Rallye Monte Carlo 2011: The list of entrants
Rally Monte Carlo 2011, the centennial event, promises to be an exceptional vintage. Besides the battle between Peugeot and Skoda announced, the board issued this evening by the CMA will not fail the great names of motor sport.
We knew that Peugeot will arrive in full force with no fewer than six teams capable of winning with Petter Solberg, Bryan Bouffier, Stephane Sarrazin, Thierry Neuville, Bruno Magalhaes and Guy Wilks.
To counter the offensive of the Lion brand, Skoda Fabia S2000 has hired five hands of Juho Hänninen, Nicolas Vouilloz, Jan Kopecky, Freddy Loix and Andreas Mikkelsen.
Also in S2000, Proton Satria Neo to enter two Chris Atkinson and PG Andersson while Ford Fiesta S2000 and will be represented by two teams with private Henning Solberg and Julien Maurin. In total over 35 S2000 are registered.
Among the personalities to the start of the race's inaugural IRC series include Robert Kubica on a car yet unknown, Francois Delecour and Toni Gardemeister in a Peugeot 207 S2000 or the former F1 driver Alex Caffi on a Skoda Fabia S2000.
However, the name of Didier Auriol does not appear in the list of entrants as the 1994 World Champion had publicly expressed a desire to be of the party.
